Sitarah Pendelton

Head of Unscripted Series

Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios

As a Senior Vice President of unscripted series for Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios, Pendelton-Eaglin brings a distinct approach to all the franchises on which she works, meticulously unfolding storylines – an aspiring artist seeking fame or someone looking for love – showcasing their ambition, their friendships and their drama, driving audience engagement and top ratings.

“The common thread among the shows is a commitment to authentic storytelling,” says Pendelton-Eaglin. “I dig deep into the layers of people. We are working with real people, and it’s critical that we showcase their full personalities and life choices - good and bad - honestly, because that is what resonates with fans. We may not all lead the same lives as the people on our shows, but we all have friends, family, and ambitions. Where our fans identify with our casts on a human level is exactly where I want to cultivate and grow interesting stories.”

As a senior female Hollywood executive at MTV Entertainment Studios, Pendelton-Eaglin is a force behind some of the biggest reality shows in television, including The Real World Homecoming franchise on Paramount+, MTV’s Catfish and VH1’s juggernaut series Love & Hip Hop, among others.

A champion of diversity and inclusion both in front of and behind the camera, Pendelton-Eaglin served as the executive producer of The Real World Homecoming: New York, reuniting the original cast and continuing the progressive conversations and culturally resonant stories that the series is recognized for, including addressing the Black Lives Matter movement as well as equal rights for Women and LGBTQ+ communities. She also served as the executive producer of Season 8 of MTV’s Are You The One?, which won a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Reality Program for having the first all gender-fluid cast. The season not only was groundbreaking for the franchise and reality TV, but also for how the LGTBQ+ community was represented in media.

Raised in New York, Pendelton-Eaglin danced for most of her life with the Dance Theater of Harlem. She went into production work after college, cutting her chops in production roles and as a writer/producer on MTV’s early programming Spring Break and TRL, before going on to become a successful executive at several networks including AMC and NBCU. She returned to MTV Entertainment in 2017 where she has remained since.

In 2021, Pendelton was recognized as one of the most powerful women in media by Cablefax.
