IMDb TV
Lauren Anderson is the Co-Head of Content and Programming for IMDb TV, Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service. In this role, Anderson oversees all programming for IMDb TV, including the development, production, licensing, research and strategy. Specifically she is responsible for leading the creative direction of and curating content for the service.
Prior to joining the IMDb TV, Anderson served as Head, Strategic Content for Amazon Studios, shepherding series such as The Savage x Fenty Show for Prime Video.
Prior to joining Amazon, Anderson was the Chief Content Officer (CCO) of Indigo Development and Entertainment Arts, the joint venture studio between NBCUniversal and Snapchat. As CCO, Anderson was responsible for all aspects of the studio’s business and creative development. During her tenure, Indigo led Snapchat’s push into mobile, scripted content under the Snap Originals banner. Indigo produced a variety of shows for the Discover platform, including the Webby-nominated and longest-running scripted hit The Dead Girls Detective Agency as well as MK Asante’s ahead-of-its-time docuseries While Black. Indigo’s Kappa Crypto was the first scripted series to attract a major ad sponsorship, and #Vanlife, produced with Above Average forged new creative ground with respect to mobile, social content.
Previously, Anderson was Senior Vice President of Primetime Programming at NBC Entertainment. It was this work that saw her named by Variety as one of Hollywood’s New Leaders. During Lauren’s time at NBC, she worked at both the studio and network, developing and/or shepherding series including The Good Place, AP Bio, Parks and Recreation, The Office, The Carmichael Show, and musical drama Smash. Her work at NBC also included oversight of several non-traditional offerings, including a multi-season live scripted series. Anderson began her career at NBCUniversal as an Entertainment Associate.
Along with her more traditional professional role, Anderson enjoys organizing projects that bring new voices into our creative ranks and the community as a whole. In addition to being the first executive to manage the NBC Directing Fellowship, she oversaw the full cycle of NBC Playground - the network’s nationwide grassroots effort to discover untapped creative talent - as well as launched Before the Camera Rolls: Secrets to a Successful Pitch, a co-sponsored event targeting up-and-coming writers and directors.
Prior to joining NBC, Anderson served as an executive at the National Basketball Association in New York City. Working in the Player Development group of the Community and Player Programs Department, she created programs that aided in players’ transition into the league as well as educated them and their families on the personal and professional responsibilities that accompanied their role in the NBA. Anderson began working at the NBA as a summer intern while earning her BA from Columbia University.
Although based in Los Angeles, Anderson still calls Ohio home.
