Jean Shi serves as the Senior Vice President, Alternative Development & Programming for Fremantle in North America. Shi is responsible for developing and selling original unscripted series, with a focus on global formats and talent. Her current projects include overseeing development for the upcoming Tattletales series for HBO Max, which will be hosted by Ayesha and Stephen Curry. In addition, she is working with Mattel to turn the iconic Whac-A-Mole game into a reality game show.
Shi is an executive with extensive hands-on experience in development and production across all genres of television, including unscripted, scripted and new media. Prior to joining Fremantle, she served as Vice President, Development in the NBCUniversal group at Oxygen Media where she oversaw two content rebrands and shepherded series such as Pretty.Strong., Douglas Family Gold, GLAAD award-winning Strut, Battle of the Ex-Besties, Last Squad Standing and The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Shi also spent three years as Vice President and Co-Executive Producer overseeing development and production at Intervention producer GRB Entertainment where she sold and produced multiple series for networks such as TLC, WeTV, Travel Channel, and National Geographic, among others. Shi started her career in morning news.
Shi lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband and two rescue dogs and is a graduate of Stanford University.
