As Director, Programming & Development, HGTV, Monica Valdes is responsible for managing the development and production of series and specials for the home and lifestyle network. Valdes joined the HGTV team in January 2019 and is the executive behind the network’s smash hit new series, Celebrity IOU. She also oversees the network’s beloved series, House Hunters, as well as several other new series premiering later in the year.
Prior to HGTV, Valdes served as Manager, Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media, where she oversaw the network’s highest rated docu-series, Aaron Hernandez Uncovered, as well as the successful, two part special, Dahmer On Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks.
Valdes holds a B.S.C. from University of Miami.
